Dog Rescue Newcastle is a dedicated group of everyday people who have a common goal and passion for finding at risk animals a second chance.
Our Goal.
Is to reduce the number of unwanted companion animals entering the pound system, reduce euthanasia rates and set up long-term positive preventative measures for the future of companion animals in the Hunter Region.
Finding Forever.
Every year we rehome over 1000 companion animals into loving forever homes.

Loving Foster Homes.
We take in thousands of unwanted dogs & cats every year and place them into loving foster homes across the hunter.
While in care they are given all the time, love and care needed until their forever home is found.
Vetcare & Rehabilitation
we take in a number of dogs and cats who need urgent and ongoing veterinary care that owners simply can’t afford.
We also provide desexing, vaccinations and treatments for all our animals in care.
Community Programs.
We have a number of programs that help our community not only engage with our work but be a part of lasting change throughout the hunter.
